   This is an “okay” toy. The chassis is put together well. The plastic is strong and I feel like it won’t break. The metal is… metal. I don’t feel like my kids are going to break this.Rather, I feel like the earth is going to break this. The blade is plastic and bends backwards when being pushed forward. The elevation control on this is plastic, and does not hold in position when pushing against soft dirt. This means that when you try to grade a play road on soft dirt, you have to actually hold the blade down in to the dirt and forward against the dirt for it to “cut” a road. Keep in mind that this is soft, sandy soil that I’ve dug and replaced elsewhere. It has little clay or packing material in it, and is very sandy and dry. East coast soil would likely destroy this blade.The rest of the toy is excellent. The wheels are big and roll well in the dirt. The chassis is what you would expect from this sort of toy. I recently dug a hole with my kids and filled it up with water. This, in turn, created a massive mud hole. This toy was easily capable of continuing to roll through the mud and did not have any problem with the caking on the wheels. The blade, however, was basically non-existent. I gave this to my youngest (he’s 2), so he doesn’t care if it cuts or not, but my big kids (6) have no use for it.Overall: 7/10Design: 7/10Aesthetics: 10/10 (I want to like this thing)Functionality: 7/10

   Bought this for our grandson and he loved it. Although a well made toy by today’s standards, it’s not the kind of “Tonka” I remember as a boy. Back then all parts were metal except for the tires (or treads) depending on the type of toy. As for the value of it, definitely a good buy in my opinion. I’ve seen comparable toys that were almost entirely all plastic and not as sturdy. These make terrific “construction” vehicles for playing in dirt piles. I remember those days fondly as a boy some 50 years ago and they held up through whatever my brother and I threw at them. These I regard not just as toys….but, memory makers.

   Good quality! The only thing I would critique about the item, is the part that is grader thing that is supposed to plow the sand sits up too high and there is no way to lower it so it gets the sand. You need to make sure you have a good pile of sand before it will work.

   Sturdy, wellbuilt, exactly what I wanted, grandson sleeps with it on the floor next to his bed!
