Very cute, and Brio quality. I didn’t realize the giraffe’s head moves (3 positions)…cute for tunnels! UPDATE: I spent about $200 to introduce my 30 month old grandson to Brio (and some knock-offs). Trains, tracks, accessories–you name it. This was by far his favorite. He could not get enough of this giraffe; in and out of the car it went, up went the head, then back down to “eat” out of his hand. The entire family commented on it. This is also a good time to mention there absolutely is a difference between Brio and the knock-offs…so much better built!

I thought my grandchildren would enjoy this addition to the train set at my house, so I got it. It was adorable, and it attached to the other magnetic trains we have. The giraffe was such a hit, with its head that went up and down, that my youngest grandson wanted to carry it around and play with it all the time. The giraffe was a good friend to the other animals my youngest grandson played with. It fit right in with farm animals and little dinosaurs, and it shared its vehicle with them. Unfortunately, one day after play, this sweet giraffe was not put away. Our dog, a hound with a sniffer that doesn’t quit, found it and chewed it up. Don’t worry, she didn’t eat the little metal piece that allowed its head and neck to go up and down. She simply chewed it, probably after smelling Cheez-its or peanut butter on it that may have transferred from some little fingers or from some sweet, little lips after kissing the giraffe. So now, the giraffe’s vehicle rides the tracks empty or sometimes with another farm animal inside. For anyone thinking about getting this giraffe with the vehicle, go for it. I highly recommend it. It’s really cute and well made. Just remember to put it away after play to keep it out of the dog’s reach! Or maybe do a better job of washing peanut butter off your grandchild’s/child’s hands than I did!

I purchased this as an addition to a small train that came with our Hape Jungle Activity table. It is darling; the giraffe lifts his head and fits right into the cart, and it moves around the track with the Hape cats without issue. We plan to get a Brio track in the future and will then use it with that.

The product is BRIO, so very high quality, and has for months now stood up to the abuse twin toddlers can hurl it’s way. However I am removing a star because it is often a source of derailments due to its very light weight compared to any other brio car. If you make a train of over 7 cars and this is one of the first few it will derail. That’s kind of the nature of model trains (and in a larger scale model train, you’d put lighter cars last), but toddlers aren’t gonna know that, and I’m dissappointed weight wasn’t added somehow to make it more like the other brio cars. We replaced the giraffe for pennies now and it works great like that. Though we wouldn’t do that for younger toddlers who’d eat stuff like that of course!

Adorable addition to my brio collection for my grandson when he visits

When we went to the zoo in Nebraska they had giraffes and you could feed them so I thought this would be a great addition to the brio train set I bought her

I expected this to be better quality coming from Brio. The giraffe train car set is mostly plastic. My kid is happy, but I don’t think this looks like Brio’s typical quality.
