I have ordered this item twice now for my son. It has been such a wonderful activity painting them together. The first set he asked his dad and I to help him paint like a real Union Pacific train, which turned out great. This time he painted it himself to look like, as he says, an old rusty abandoned train. He did such a good job! He says it is what his UP train would look when it gets old. We play with both often and they provide hours of entertainment for my train fanatic child. I would highly recommend this as an activity and fun toy for anyone that has a child who loves trains.

These compare to higher quality trains. The best part is being able to paint them with your child. If you mess up, sand them down and repaint or paint over them again. Magnets are strong. You will not be disappointed.

Love the idea of painting your own train set but we wish the train cars where more unique instead of several of the same. My son with autism and ADHD paint his current sets now so I got these to help repainting other train sets. Didn’t notice at that time but I wish they provided more variety to paint would be my only recommendation

Great activity that can be stretched over multiple sessions of painting and then into many hours of play afterwards, Montessori aligned and, to quote my husband, “you never see kids toys of this quality for this price, nice to see people making decent toys for kids who couldn’t usually afford them”. We received a compatible set of tracks for Christmas this year and my child has yet to get bored of them (or break any!) 9 months later.
