At first, the toy did not seem to hold the battery pack charge very long after minimal usage. Then I decided it should have been charged with the provided USB cord for at least 8 hours instead of the 2-3 hrs stated in directions. Now I am hopeful it will retain a charge longer. I purchased this for a disabled man who operated and owned a backhoe and other heavy machinery for many years. He is now living in a residential facility and his face lit up when I was able to show him how the toy backhoe worked. Right now he really cannot operate the remote himself but enjoys watching it. Now I can help him operate it & show others there what he used to operate himself.

I purchased this toy for my 3rd old grandson and he loves it. The controls were a little confusing to him because you have to push both joysticks forward to go forward/backwards. If you only push 1 joystick,, it goes in circles. The toy itself is made well and the audio sounds are cool. I thought it came with a rechargeable battery but it takes 4AA batteries for the vehicle and 2 AA for the remote.Update: after only having played with the toy, inside. mostly due to weather. I took my grandson to a park that had a sand hill so he could get full play out of the toy. We were both disappointed in the way the toy performed in the sand. The front shovel is very weak in trying to push/pick up sand. The back shovel bucket couldn’t dig up the sand and kept making a clicking sound when we would try. The response of the radio control is also starting to lack. Its hard to explain but it’s not good. Dont get me wrong, it does have cool sounds and works but lacks power, for the price, it’s okay. I took 2 stars away for poor outside performance and the radio control not working properly.

I really love shopping at Amazon because any time I have ever had a problem their customer service has always been great about fixing the issue. Whether it’s damaged merchandise and needing a refund to needing to know about a product. Because I have over the years had to deal several times with damaged merchandise from other seller’s and a few but not many from Amazon themself and Amazon has always helped me as I said with getting a refund or replacement which ever I asked for.

Fine for a first r/c vehicle to learn to use a remote, but otherwise a little weak. Can’t really lift more than a few Lego blocks and doesn’t dump from the bucket.

My 4yr old son loves this !!! Bought it for Christmas and it was a huge hit! Only wish the tracks stayed on better.

I bought my grandsons this backhoe along with the loader and dump truck. They love playing with them. The backhoe is slower and battery life is quickly drained. But the kids still love them.

The 8 channels allow full forward, backward, left, right motion control of the loader, plus some scooping motion control for the front and rear buckets. But, there isn’t much control beyond cycling the 2 buckets through scooping motions independently. The biggest disappointment, though, is the fact that the treads are too loose and soft, so they keep wanting to jump off the tractor as it turns. To avoid this, you will need to move the tractor forward or reverse a bit as it pivots to help encourage the treads to stay in the groove of the wheels. Don’t expect to be able to do much more than scratch the surface of the sandbox with this — and only if the sand is dry and light.
