So I don’t normally write a review but I felt the need to share my story. My youngest son loves hot wheels and I indulge him so I thought this would make the perfect gift for Christmas. He’s younger than the recommended age but aside from assembling, anyone can play with it. So on Christmas day, I decided to wait to open this until my oldest so came back from winter break in another state. My 4 year old had his own agenda and opened the box while I was making Christmas dinner. When my partner and I attempted to assemble this damn thing the next day we faced utter confusion because we couldn’t find all of the pieces. You need ALL of the pieces to even remotely make this physics experiment work. After searching what I thought were the possible areas where the missing pieces were I concluded the box was missing a piece which was unusual for this type of toy but not impossible. Amazon processed my request and before the replacement promptly arrived… We found the missing piece. ??โโ๏ธ. Long story short, my boys love this set and I think it’s a great introduction to the magic of physics. Just make sure an age appropriate individual or 3 sets it up correctly with ALL of the pieces.

I bought this for my 8yr old daughter. She is new to hot wheels, and had them at the very top of her Christmas list. I kept looking at this particular set over a month, going back and forth because she had already specifically requested other different launchers, extra track, the booster pack, and extra cars. Since she was starting from scratch, and this looked really cool and had that wow factor, I thought this would really tie everything in and make for creative play. I was worried that it wouldn’t work right tho, but I finally pulled the trigger and purchased this, and I’m glad I did. This does work as described. The cars have no problem getting around the loop, but some cars can slow down shortly after completing the loop, so if you’re adding a lot more track to this, I’d put a booster or another launcher not too far after the cars clear the hoop. The launcher that shoots the car up work great. This was the part I was most concerned with since I’m new to Hot Wheels, as well. My daughter did get a car stuck it the thing that the car shoots up to. She hit the launcher too hard, and the car jammed before making the curve. We did have to help getting it out, and she said she hasn’t had that problem since. The cars do drop off from the blue release part of the set and land onto the lower swirling slide as it’s supposed to, more times than it doesn’t. Again, it’s something that looked too good to be true, but it’s not. I personally was pleasantly surprised with this set. I really wasn’t sure if it was going to work right at all! I waited almost a month to review this because I wanted to see if it held up, and so far so good. My husband did have to put it up, so it was measured correctly, so please keep that in mind, because an adult will most likely need to do or help with the initial setup. He said it wasn’t as difficult as he thought. Probably took 30-45minutes. Other than the original setup, my daughter and her neighbor friend have been able to build onto this setup by themselves and have changed the add on pieces many times with no problems. You can see the add on parts that she connected from her other Hot Wheels gifts connected off to the left of this tracks build. Those extra pieces that don’t come in this set are connected right after the yellow loopty loop part ends in my pictures. She’s had no problems adding the additional tracks, the white curve, the curve launcher, the booster pack, etc to this existing set that stays up on our wall. This set really has that wow factor. It’s a big box, which is great for gifting, and of course will make any hot wheels fan light up. We chose to set it up in our finished basement’s t.v./play area so we wouldn’t have to worry about putting it up and down often. We did take it down once, and were able to reinstall it just fine without needing additional supplies. Again, a surprise for me. We have not taken it back down since tho. I’d recommend trying to find a place to put this where you don’t have to put it away after each use, if possible. It is possible to put up and down however, but it could get a little tiresome. If you don’t have a spot to leave it up, I’d get some extra double sided sticky foam or sticky velco pieces to have on hand incase you wear the original out. My daughter really likes this, so I do recommend it. I hope my pictures help give you an idea of what to expect in person.

Got this for my 5 year old son this past Christmas. Setup requires you to place multiple command strips on your wall and after applying them you have to wait an hour before you can continue setting up the toy. It takes up a good 5 feet of floor space but has a convenient holder on the side of it to store the track pieces while still leaving the main unit attached to the wall. No place to store the cars that work with it, which will become important later…My son and 2.5 year old daughter THOROUGHLY enjoy this toy which is why I rated it so highly. But to be frank, itโs pricey for what you get. He has over 200 cars and maybe 12 of them will work. Some of the cars that work are not even Hot Wheels, theyโre off-brand, while brand name Hot Wheels do not work with this Hot Wheels track! The cars have to be a specific shape and weight to make it up the track. We have to keep them separated out in plastic bags so he remembers which ones work (and like I said, no car storage). It requires considerable force to hit the launch pad hard enough to get the cars to make the entire circuit. If a car flies off, it will hit the wall behind it with CONSIDERABLE speed. Weโve got a million dents and dings in the paint already. The left two tracks work well once you figure out which cars can make it, but the track with the vertical spiral is a big fail. The car is supposed to fly up and around and then drop into the cup at the top of the spiral but it misses 90 percent of the time.If this worked as it should with the cars that are made by the SAME company who makes this track, Iโd definitely recommend it because setup really wasnโt hard and it is a large toy. The hang ups that bother me donโt bother my kids too much, they just donโt use the spiral track…but thatโs half the toy.

Again purchased this to assemble with my son the track went together flawlessly, but the 3m wall stickies wouldn’t hold up on the wall which I cleaned and dried as directed. Track kept falling off of the wall.

This is a great set but prepare yourself for a mess. I really like how the kids can really customize and build tracks to their liking or use the instructions and build one there. Six year old loves it but the 8 and 10 still mess around with it too.

The price is definitely worth this track! This is our all time hot wheels track ever made truly. My son is obsessed with this track too! They do make replacement command strips if they come off the wall but as long as you clean your wall before hand then easily will stay on for a long time. I re arrange all the time and this track still does great with that too. Most hot wheel cars work on this track as well. Fun for the entire family to enjoy together!

Hoping glue just gave out I’ll have to assemble before gifting to make sure everything’s good
