It was intended to be a birthday present – so I was not going to spend a few hundred dollars on a slot car track. The cars themselves touch the track with what I would call a frayed wire. Most slot cars I am used to have a metal tab. So, more than anything else I spend my time smoothing and fixing the wire to touch the track. And then my kids push the car backwards and do things that fray the wire back out.Assembly was good, I expected it would be less than 100% perfect at this price point, but surprisingly it was not too bad. The plastic snapped together well and I only had one metal tab that I had to get pliers to “fix” things. The metal is a box at one end and crushed down to a point on the other, so the point slides into the box. The only problem was one had the point crushed out and I had to reshape. The triggers have held up so far, the cars are nice, the track is holding up. We will see how long the cars last, but even still, that is pretty easy to fix if the wire ends up fraying to bits. Or just buy new cars.

I have only one con. The track can break if forced together. Taking your time will avoid this.Otherwise it is a lot of fun. It is also quiet, the lap counter is more noisy than the cars.I’m not sure if this is considered a pro or con, but these things move rather quickly. Maybe with a little more speed I could have launched mine half-way across the room in the up-hill turn. The cars are tough.I was skeptical about a 6 volt USB running it, but it will run off my phone reserve batteryYou can’t go wrong for the price and it will keep us big kids occupied and out of the way.

The set is good value for the money. Only thing is, is that there is no supply system in place tomaintain the set you have just purchased.I went looking on Joysway store front for tune up parts and found none.I then contacted technical support and was told via chat that there is no info on the set for technicalsupport like instruction on how to change brushes or buy a different gear tooth set. Nothing. It is probably going back because it it will not be a good purchase in the long run.

This track runs off ac instead of DC so no replacement of batteries is awesome…. dislike hour into playing one of the 2 cars you get is having issues running as fast because of a poor connection at the bottom of the car

Bought this for my 6 year old grandson. We both had a blast playing with It! I would have gave it 5 stars but the lap counter on one lane quit working the first time we used it.

Bought this for my grandson but we all have fun playing with it. Set up in a few minutes and you can change the configuration and also add track from same manufacturer sets. You can have both cars on the same track but can only use 1 controller. Cars have jumps and land back on track and continue. This set has a banked curve and jumps. Not really movable once it is set up, it comes apart easily,

Very nice slot car track. It is very fast and large. This review is for the joysway 255 with the two trucks.

I bought this set after spending several hours trying to get the slot car set previously used by son, who is now a dad himself. I couldn’t get the old style cars running reliably and finally bit the bullet to buy a new set, which was pretty cheap anyway. It went together easily and the design/function is way improved over what was available years ago. My advice is to buy one of the larger sets because there is not much flexibility in the layout you can create from these pieces and a bit more flexibility would help. I suppose you could buy two kits and have extra cars and controllers and track if you need it but then you have to have a place to store all the unused pieces. The only drag as far as I’m concerned is that it takes quite a bit of space if you leave it set up and there’s not an easy way to hang it on a wall in the garage I(or something like that) to store it so it is not on the floor and under foot when not being use.My grand children who are 6 and 9 love playing with it and so do their parents and my 73 year old wife. So, I consider this a real entertainment “win” for a very reasonable amount of money….and so far there has been no need for aggravating “service” to keep the cars running, which is certainly a change/improvement over slot cars of yesteryear.
