I really like this track system. I’m 63 and always wanted a tyco race track, but finally said to my daughter, should we get this? I do like it very much, easy to assemble. Once we got the racing cars at the right speed, it went around track 10 times for sure before they crashed. I think sometimes when they crashed is because they hit a point to where 2 tracks meet. I have it on carpet. But, seriously thinking of buying extra track and change lane track. It really looks cool glowing in the dark. The reason for 4 stars, I thought when I first read up on it b4 buying, I thought it said comes with USB charging too. But, it doesn’t. But, yeah, only takes 10 minutes to charge up a car.

The instructions could be more detailed. I would not have known how to put together without my fiance there. Very easy if u have put other tracks together. The pieces slide together in the grooves. They dont snap together! Instructions very vague. Cars are super fast. Almost too fast they fly off the track and have to constantly stop or slow which is kinda annoying for someone who doesn’t wanna spend time doing that. Very cool color and lights up as wheels go around. One of the controllers the trigger got stuck on when using it the first time. My 5 year old loves it. I’m gonna give it a few more days and decide if I want to keep it. It seems a little cheap for how much money it was. My kid wont be happy if I return it though.

I saw a two star review on the second generation replacement cars that stated the second generation cars weren’t as good as the first. I bought both sets. Both first generation and second generation cars work great. The second generation cars are slightly heavier, and seemed to be a little faster. Second generation cars are variable speed, but maybe slightly more sensitive than the first generation cars because of the increase in speed. The second generation track sets come with a USB charger that can be used to charge both first and second generation cars, rather than having to charge the car using the controller (which pulls from the AA batteries in the controller). We used the USB charger to charge these first generation cars and it worked great and because it is a different setup (infrared first generation vs 2.4 GHz second generation) we were able to run all four cars at the same time without any interference. They come off the track if you don’t have it setup correctly or go a little too fast over the jump, but the cars continued to hold up and my three year old son loved racing with his older cousins and so did I. No issues out of the box. We’ll see how they hold up long term.

Got two of these for gifts. The track feels cheep and flimsy but even on simi uneven surfaces (wrinkled carpet) it works great. if the track was made of more solid plastic it would have broken due to a 9 year old stepping on it. I would suggest to keep it on carpet instead of hard woods or tile. Why? The cars are so fast and the track wiggles and flexes and will slide across slick surfaces causing the cars to fly off very easily. It works better than i imagined. The lights on the cars leave glowing lines on the track as they zoom across it. The cars are easy to charge up and last for quite a bit. The track is easy to assemble but could be bent out of shape if you let kiddos force them together. All in all i think this was a great gift and might even look into getting the alternate track version to make these larger.

Great HO car kit complete with track for young people to get into race cars. We were amazed at how fast the cars go–almost too fast to stay on the track! Our youngsters really liked it!

Need to pay extra attention when putting track together. If even slightly off, car wonโt stay on track. Also received a dud, one of the cars wonโt pair with a remote, doesnโt work at all. Bummer for the amount of money we spent. Average quality, but my kid likes it.

The coolest thing about this track is that unlike traditional slot cars, the cars are rc cars so they work even of they aren’t on the track! Yes! Your cat can chase them and you can chase her back! Super fun!

Lots of fun with grandson. Only downfall is that it jumps off the track alot.
